The conservation and restoration treatment of this 19th-century painting by Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky was carried out by Venizelos G. Gavrilakis and Vaia A. Karagianni at VENIS STUDIOS, combining scientific examination, advanced conservation methodologies, and extensive expertise in the treatment of historic artworks.

The artwork underwent comprehensive assessment and documentation, revealing areas of surface deterioration, structural instability, and evidence of previous restoration interventions requiring careful and informed conservation treatment.

Through a controlled conservation process, VENIS STUDIOS addressed the painting’s structural and surface conditions, including stabilization, careful cleaning, and visual reintegration, while preserving the authenticity of the original materials and respecting the artistic intent of Aivazovsky.
